I was talking about my 101 in 1001 List the other day and I reminded myself that I’d better get moving on it. I forget that I have it sometimes, which is not really the point of it. I believe it’s supposed to motivate me, not continually remind me of my laziness. (I still haven’t painted my fingernails yet? How hard is that? Eh, I’ll do it later.) See? This is how my mind works. Lazy, lazy, lazy. But then again, I look over the list and realize that I have crossed off 28 things since I started on January 1st, which really isn’t that bad at all. I also have quite a few that are in progress or that I should be doing soon. Then there are the ones that may still be on there when my 1001th day hits, mocking and laughing at me. Here’s a list of where some of them fall:
11. Write and produce another play - All written and currently in rehearsals, to be performed on August 27th. If you’re local, give me a shout and I’ll give you the details.
14. Watch all of my unopened DVDs - Ha! Yeah, right. Instead of watching, I keep adding to them. Stop the madness! But then again, how can I stop when all of these TV shows keep being released?
15. Go back to Vegas - In talks for a possible April trip. Vegas, you have been warned.
39. Win more than $40 playing blackjack at a casino - I’ll be trying my luck at the tables on August 12th!
46. Use my Ronald McDonald drinking glasses which are currently sitting in a box, collecting dust in the basement - They should be in the rotation in December or January, depending on when I complete #57….
57. Move out - Right now it looks to be some time around December or January, depending on how long it takes to find a condo that I like. We’ll see!
49. See 30 Seconds to Mars in concert and get up front to drool over Jared Leto - August 2nd. General Admission. Outta my way.
51. Attend a taping of SNL - I can’t even watch it now, why would I want to see the train wreck in person. This one did have the condition of ‘only if the show gets better,’ which so far, not.
54. Sing in a piano bar to live out my lounge singer fantasy - This fantasy seems like it may remain in my head. Damn you, Fabulous Baker Boys! Stop giving me ideas!
61. Go to another midnight movie at the Avon Cinema - The next time they have a midnight showing of Office Space I am THERE.
84. Go to England - Excuse me while I choke on my lofty ambitions. CheeriNo!
90. Do 35 Grand in the Sand again - This is that radio contest that I participated in last year, digging in the deep, wet sand with 94 other morons and ending up with $1250 worth of prizes. Shovels go up for grabs on Friday for the dig on August 6th. Oh, I am SO there. (No more mountain bikes!)
92. Write a song about Green Eggs & Ham and incorporate it into a play - One of the bad auditions for my upcoming Ocean State Idol play will be singing this little ditty.
95. Play The Sims without using the money cheat - I haven’t looked up any cheats for my new PS2 Urbz in the City, so I’m going to attempt it.
96. Go shopping at Natick Mall - Soon. Before the summer is out!
97. Draw - I’ll be making huge signs and logos for my play!
So that’s where I’m at with some of those things – I’m getting there. I may not be getting to England anytime soon, but I’m getting there.

I forgot that Pimp asked me for a review of the new Harry Potter book. I answered him in the comments section of my Harry entry, but I just figured I’d give it the official thumbs up here. It’s pretty much a set up for the next book, which I want right NOW. My one complaint? Not enough Neville!
In other recommendations – run, do not walk to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp is fantastic, Freddie Highmore is adorable, Tim Burton is still a genius, and the movie just rocks. My one complaint? Not enough Augustus Gloop.
